Thanks again! She did get out of ICU a day earlier (still on the special transplant ward tho) and I even talked to her on the phone!

Greg 08-08-2007 11:16 PM

Hooray! :D

Zenmistress 08-09-2007 12:00 AM

Wonderful! I'm glad to hear she's doing well, Rose!

shorty943 08-09-2007 12:06 AM

Good news. Glad to hear it Rose.
Get well thoughts still flowing.

Miros1 08-09-2007 01:45 AM

Thanks everyone! She's coming along quickly...

Greg 08-12-2007 09:34 PM

I know it's way too early to be bugging you for more updates, but... well... so... how's she doing? :)

shorty943 08-12-2007 11:28 PM

Yeah, like he said.

This is family, we need to know you and yours are all well.

Miros1 08-13-2007 12:28 AM

Lol, no problem.

Her roommate and the bro-in-law are coming home for a short visit to pick up stuff they forgot to take with them. A friend from Michigan is going to go hang out at the hospital with her until they get back. Basically, she's doing well enough that it's safe to have no one there with medical power of attourney for a while.

At this point, the doctors are making sure she's physically healing properly and getting the anti-rejection drugs regulated.

I've spoken to her on the phone again, and once I got my mother to turn down the tv so bits of that weren't inserting themselves into the conversation, she made good sense (which is more than she's done since June).

shorty943 08-13-2007 12:38 AM

That's good.

Thank you Rose.

Stay strong Lady, we are still praying for your family.

Greg 08-13-2007 07:31 PM

Yes! This is sounding very positive. :)

Latest update:

She came home yesterday, and we had a cookout today to celebrate!

Steak, shrimp, corn, caesar salad. I made apple crisp.

Greg 08-25-2007 04:37 AM

Yippee! That sounds most excellently positive! I'll be she enjoyed that, too!

Did you cook the shrimp on the barby?

Zenmistress 08-25-2007 04:39 AM

 :blob7:

Glad to hear she's home and doing well, Rose!!

No, the steak was on the barbie. The shrimp was under the broiler.

Mentally, she's clearer than she's been in a year. Physically, even with a giant incision to heal, she's better than she's been in months.

Greg 08-25-2007 11:09 PM

This is sounding better all the time!

Miros1 08-26-2007 08:05 AM

Let's put it this way... Liver failure is a b---h!

shorty943 08-29-2007 12:55 AM

Any of the vital organs give trouble, it is bad.

Glad to hear your mother-in-law is recovering nicely.

Miros1 08-31-2007 01:42 PM

More bad news... my nephew's 18 year old daughter, Danielle, died of complications of a form of progeria (premature aging) yesterday. She went in for tests on her liver and the doctors discovered heart damage. She died in the cardiac ICU after surgery.

She's in the 3rd picture down (and others).
