I wonder if we could make an outdoor kitchen for the Sims like the one we're talking about for your back yard?

Greg 09-21-2008 07:01 PM

Coco, depending on what you're thinking of, I expect that with some help from recolors and maybe a new mesh or two, you can build just about anything. So... what would your outdoor kitchen look like?

Miros1 09-22-2008 12:43 AM

There was that awesome backyard kitchen that Bobby Flay put together on Kitchen Accomplished on the Food Network.

Crystal 09-22-2008 12:56 AM

Yay!! I will look for pictures!!

Miros1 09-22-2008 01:51 AM

Whoops, it was All-Star Kitchen Makeover, sorry!

I think I found the start of the site for All-Star Kitchen Makeover...

... but I can't figure out how to find anything but pictures from the same episode.

That one is stucco. The guys were thinking they would make it brick with a base of concrete.

Greg 09-24-2008 01:20 AM

We could probably just recolor Maxian counters with brick and concrete. I think the trickiest part might be getting a grill built in.

Bucket Brigade 09-25-2008 12:51 AM

Thanks, Greg! I saw these and joined just to get them. Now I see a lot of other great things! :)

Greg 09-25-2008 01:54 AM

I'm glad you like them, Bucket Brigade! And welcome to Sun Sims! :D

Bucket Brigade 09-25-2008 11:49 PM

Thanks again, Greg.

I like this idea of an outdoor kitchen. Brick on a concrete base sounds perfect. Faux stone countertops would look great, too. If I had one in real life I would put rubber mats on the countertops so as not to break glassware.

Would it be possible to build a small refrigerator into a counter? The dorm refrigerator might work.

Greg 09-26-2008 12:57 AM

I'm sure it would be possible, Bucky. It's just a matter of finding someone who knows how to do it! :D

Miros1 09-26-2008 03:53 PM

I could swear I saw a brick grill somewhere...

Razamataz 09-27-2008 04:10 AM

Try the MTS2 flintstones collection or caveman I think i saw something like it there!!

Greg 09-27-2008 10:54 AM

The Flinstones collection! Of course! What better place could there be to find objects for the ancient ritual of gathering around the fire? :D

Crystal 09-28-2008 03:23 AM

Good idea I got to remember to search for the Flinstones on MTS2.

Bucket Brigade 10-01-2008 09:57 AM

Seach for Simstones instead.

There's lots of cool stuff but I don't see anything that looks like an outdoor kitchen yet.

Miros1 10-01-2008 07:54 PM

I think they just need the grill itself. The rest can be faked by wrapping a brick and concrete texture onto normal counters.

Greg 10-02-2008 01:31 AM

Yeah. I haven't had a chance to try any of this yet but I think even I could put a brick texture on a counter. I want to try just dropping a grill into a counter with the move_objects command. If the grill is tall enough, it ought to work quite well!

Crystal 10-05-2008 10:55 PM

The guys didn't talk about the outdoor kitchen all weekend so I just asked and they still think its a great idea they just didn't think of it.
