A nice $170k 3Bed

Ok, I've had this one sitting on ice for a very long time, so long that I've forgotten where I found the plans. Long enough for 2 EPs to be released.

But... that last EP, Seasons, makes the house.

I have Uni, NL, OFB, Pets & Seasons installed. Along with Celebration and FFS. I forgot to install the Holiday/Christmas Party Pack when I reinstalled.

It is beyond all doubt that you will need NL (driveway etc), OFB (windows) and Seasons (skylight and greenhouse) to install this house.

Cleaned with clean installer.

Fully furnished.

Note: One of the kitchen counters needs to be moved back into place in front of the 3 tile window or into the nook, it's one that slipped through the cracks when I replaced the original custom windows before uploading. The counter is there, just in the wrong place. If you don't move it, your sims wont be able to reach the hot chocolate, and far more importantly, the trash compactor.

Sims2Pack Size: 3051 kB
Zipfile Size: 2223 kB
Rarfile Size: 561 kB
Lot Size: 3 x 6
Lot Price: $170,566
Bedrooms: 3
Bathrooms: 4
Parking: Offstreet x 2 (I don't think you can do parallel parking with this house)
Fireplaces: 2
Skylight, hottub, pool with slide, greenhouse and orchard.

The thumbnails should be clickable.

PS Yes, there is that big a difference between zip and rar.

PPS If anyone wants an unfurnished version let me know.

That's gorgeous, Mike!

Oh, one suggestion, since it requires Seasons, and that has temperature problems...

Put a smoke detector near the hottub, I've almost lost a couple of sims that overheated in the tub. Being on fire is a very negative experience for them too.

I wonder if anyone has made a wall mounted sprinkler yet.

I've had a couple looking like lobsters from running the treadmill (outside in winter, no less), but no spontaneous combustion.

I do have JMP's temperature fixes -- Maxis actually hard coded the spontaneous combustion for a lower temperature than the other harmful effects of overheating!

JMP's firemod fix is also very worthwhile, your sims become less of a liability and more potentially lifesaving with that.

From the firemod rtfm.txt file:
Quote:

Sims will no longer moth fires when panicking when something catches fire. Sims that have seen more than one fire before will attempt to extinguish it rather than panicking. Visitors finding your house to be on fire will immediately declare this to be somebody else's problem and find an urgent and pressing interest in being elsewhere, rather than going into aspirational failure....after all, why should they care...unless they are on FIRE?

Very nice house, I love 'em on all one level. Thanks!

Golly! I didn't know that Seasons had skylights! That alone would almost make it worth the hassle.

Miros1 07-15-2007 03:43 PM

That's actually the greenhouse roof. But it does make for a nice skylight.

I'm gonna glass in the porch on one of my houses so I can harvest all winter. I'm figuring use the greenhouse roof to make "dormers" so the sunlight will get in.

mikedelaney16 07-15-2007 07:25 PM

You can make the greenhouse roof as little as one tile wide, so it makes an excellent replacement for awnings over hot tubs. Like so:

Unprotected hot tubs can be a tad dangerous in Seasons if your sims use them during a storm. I hate the way the awnings stay visible and get in the way.

Ack, there's no "toast" or "lightning bolt" smiley.

Btw, a plantsim (yuck) would probably be fairly happy in that house. But not a plantsim-vampire (double yuck) they need a purely technological solution.

The greenhouse roof can't intersect the regular roof, I haven't found a cheat that allows it to yet either.
