Yup, that's what I've heard. If SecuROM is really that bad, I would expect there to be a class action suit against the people who publish it as well as anyone who distributes it, such as EA. They can put what they want to in license agreements; those words won't protect them from charges of gross negligence or malicious behavior.
The point being that if EA is knowlingly distributing software that is as bad as described here, they are criminally negligent and subject to prosecution.
