Greg.

Usually, at best, all they can do is take a copy of what ever.
But, even then, only if the creator has made the item copyable.
Copy\Modify\Transfer are the 3 attributes of the creators tool kit.
Items are then made as freebies or for sale.
They can't actually "steal" in the normal sense.
At best (or is that worst) is an "ooh, I like that, I think I'll copy that" state of mind.

It is simply, they enjoy screwing with other peoples heads.
They're jerks, plain and simple. But, they are to laugh at.
Just people with juvenile minds up to no good. Annoying mainly.
They can't actually do anything to "hurt" anybody, they are just annoying little jerks.

And Sita is right, about the inherent human need, for some modicum of "privacy".
That is why, I spent the princely sum, of less than US$35 to buy a block of land and put a house on it. Less than a Sims 2 upgrade pack.
And, I'm making friends from all over the world.
I don't know about you Sita, and others, but to me, SL has a value Sims2 never can. Real people. An immediate contact with other human minds.
And I can get over the idiots.
I now have a friend with an SL gun shop.
And "she" yes she, is another Aussie. Lives in the US.
Nice girl, pays well to stay in her good books.

Then there are the admin rights of the "sim owner".
Got the correct name? Do some checking first.
Not that hard, every movement in and out of the sim is logged.
Complete ban from the sim is immediately enacted. Never gets back in.
