Ack! Could you imagine if something like that happened in real life? "I'm sorry; you're nanny died so we kidnapped your child an you can't have her back. Too bad."

Not only that... you can't adopt other children either. If you want more, you gotta grow your own!

Yet another reason for the no-social-worker hack. In my game, I just use her for cannon fodder.

Well, I don't completely disable her, just get rid of her more annoying traits (like snatching well fed, well behaved children because the family adopted one child that had been taken away from another family and haven't had a chance to turn the situation around yet).
Seasons also has an annoyance where the social worker will come if your children get too cold or too hot! I could see too cold (you let them stay outside too long in the snow), but too hot? I'm planning to get JMPs new hack that will prevent that stupidity. |

OMG! I just saw the funniest thing!
Cleo Shaffer just threw a piece of waffle (a custom food) on the floor (secondary icon said Share Food) and the dog ate it! I was too busy laughing to hit the V key tho.... |

Bad news: The Shaffers' dog, Wilfred, just died of old age.
Good news: Wilfred had life insurance! If you want to see toddler Cleo cuddling Wilfred one more time: http://s151.photobucket.com/albums/s...nt=Wilfred.flv Claudia and Cavanaugh have also cuddled Wilfred, but no footage... Last edited by Miros1 : 07-07-2007 at 05:56 PM. |

This is the first pet that died of old age in my game... I thought it was pretty funny, so I got the screenshot and posted it.

Ellen and Fiby. Fiby is a womrat. Womrats are superior to guinea pigs.

You know, I've never played much with the Birds or Womrats...
What's their life span like, as compared to the (default) life span of Cats & Dogs in the game?

I've got a Sim that got one in college and his kid is in college now.
Just get the caged pet fixes (I know you've got them) so you get the warning to go feed them. |

So.. what's the value of a life insurance policy on a womrat?

Ellen accidentally starved Fiby, and no, womrats don't have life insurance...
Moral of this story: Get cagedpetfixes. |

So just feeding the little beggers keeps them around, eh? (That certainly beats their real life equivallents life span!)

Yep, just keep 'em fed and they live a long time, same for birds too. Birds are just more expensive. Gotta keep 'em fed!

Second deceased dog:
Third deceased dog: (no pic, sorry) Chance decided he wanted Therese to be around for his prospective kids to strangle, er, cuddle, so he used the Grim Reaper phone. I guess 10K isn't too bad for a whole new elderhood for a fully trained dog... Oh, cagedpetfixes does something important too... as coded by Maxis, time didn't fully stop when you went into Buy/Build with a bird or womrat on the lot. So if you left the lot hanging and wandered away, you could come back to a pet at death's doorstep without even enough time to eat something and avert disaster. |
