Washer & Dryer As A Surface & Seperate?
Anyone know where/if I can get washers & dryers that are seperate from each other (not "glued" together side-by-side) and function as a usable surface???? (The "wardrobe" cloned ones are kinda redundant for my purposes. I don't need to "use" them, I just want to be able to put stuff on top of them.)
So far I've only found them as seperate but not surface useable or surface useable but not seperate. I actually toyed with the idea of trying my hand at making my own, but now that I've got H&M I don't feel comfortable using SimPE to try it. Just thought I would ask.... (There is a "working" washer + detergent set on MST2 where the washer doubles as a surface, but there is no dryer "companion" for it anywhere & that will drive me nuts in the game!)

I've seen gizmos of a variety of heights that you place on the same square as another item so you can place anything on almost anything.
1) Windkeeper on TSR 2) Somewhere on MTS2. I guess I didn't get them downloaded yet since it's so darn slow. |

Kelly has some that are decorative objects. There might be one of those "one more slot" things that could be used in conjunction with them, but they don't seem to be exactly countertop height.

The "one more slot" things I'm thinking of come in different heights, so you can put stuff on the pastry case or the Maxis wardrobe.

Yeah, those things. I think I tried to find one that matches Kelly's washer and dryer, but was not successful.

Zirconia, could you give a link to the "separate but not surface usable" ones you found, so I can try to match them up with a gizmo to fake surface usability?

In the "seperate but not surface usable" catagory, what I have found (that I actually like) are
- Sim Republic (Kelly's) Here is the link for super quick access... http://www.sunsims.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121 - The "Lancaster" style ones at TSR http://www.thesimsresource.com/downl.../SetID_505746/ (I swear there was another set from TSR, but that site & I have "issues" when it comes to ever finding things a second time there!) I never knew there even were mod-thingys that could enable "other" surface slots! What a great idea! (Not being able to put anything on top of those 2-tile wide dressers is driving me bonkers!)

Yup, that One More Slot thingie can come in handy. I was disappointed that you can put sims on, though.

You mean you don't want to take screenshots of teenagers sitting on their beds doing homework? (That's the example in the tutorial. We all know what people use those things for...)

Um, lemme find the tutorial...
Basically, you have the Sim do homework, then pause the game. Put the tray part of the thingie on the floor and use move_objects to slide the Sim onto it. Lift the tray part (with the immobile Sim) onto the height adjuster part. Drag the whole assembly "into" the bed. Tutorials:Taking_Totally_Bitchin_Pics:Posing_on_Su rfaces |

Aha! What I was missing is the Invisible magisplay tray. It says that the magicsplay tray, whatever that is, comes with Open For Business.
