Warning DO NOT DO THIS
Trust Shorty to find the whack ones.
It appears that it is now possible to goof in the in game bodyshop. Big time. Now don't fret, it may just be an interesting experiment in the "adapted" game file I am testing to rid myself, and others of SecuRom. However. It seems it is now possible to delete standard Maxis\EA clothing whilst building a Sim in CAS. DO NOT DO THIS. I did. Not good Shorty, not good. The clothing and the default Maxis\EA skins seem to be linked somehow , and the whole lot gets wiped. All Sims in default skins will suddenly appear in, "Oooh, I did a bad thing" mode. The upside is it only affects Sims with default skins, like, OMG, every townie in the whole bloody game is going to look like the one in CAS. Oh dear. It was all going so well too. The game is stable, and once the sound halt is over during load up, it is responsive, it almost blasts between lots and 'hoods. The "fixed" game .exe file does not require a game disk in the machine at all. And it may have a few other "benefits" I have not found yet as well. Sure is interesting. I'll keep you all posted. |

Someplace here, or maybe on the Hullabaloo... I posted about the virtues of making all your .package files in or below Program Files/EA Games/The Sims 2 read-only... Maybe I should put up a tutorial...
Tutorial done! Last edited by Miros1 : 11-20-2007 at 05:40 AM. |

Sorry! I just tend to forget what I posted where... I'll be more careful about posting in the Help Desk and linking to it...

Note to self: Don't delete anything from Body Shop ever.
(ZW feels sad for shorty but secretly glad that it wasn't her who discovered this lil problem!)

What? And deprive us of the privilege of reminding you to practice what you preach when you mess up your game?
