Spore Creature Creator
For anyone interested in Spore, EA's releasing a Creature Creator program on the 17th of June, well ahead of the Sep. 7th release date. Seems like a very fun little program to me. See http://www.spore.com

One thing that would really sell me on Spore: If you could import creatures into The Sims 2!

Weirdness. I installed the free trial version of the Creature Creator but when I went to look for it to see what it was like, the program was nowhere to be found. It wanted to me to update DirectX but there was no clue that this would cause it to uninstall itself.

Ah, success. It's just a matter of looking in...
C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\SPORE\Sporebin... and starting up SporeCreatureCreator.exe. Yup. It's cute. Mama rrawk and the little baby rrawks I just added some arms and changed their color scheme. Mama rrawk was very happy when each baby showed up. They had fun dancing.

Darn. Hubby will start campaigning to install Spore and its contaminant SecuROM onto my puter in September when it comes out...

Yeah, who knows? I might have already installed SecuROM when I installed the Creature Creator.
It would be fun to be able to import those little critters into The Sims 2!

Yup, it's a lot of fun for the price of a movie ticket.
I really don't much care about SecuROM as long as it doesn't hose up my operating system.

It's not SecuROM that scares me; it's MAXIS!
My game is working nicely as it is. I fear that if I install another expansion pack I will be launched into a nightmare of installs, uninstalls, searches for hacks, and Ghu knows what else!

I have to admit I'm scared of SecuROM...though you may be on to something about the "Maxis Factor"!
The Creature Creator looks interesting. It would be cool if you could get the creatures to work in Zoo Tycoon 2; it can be hard finding good ZT2 downloads, at least when compared to Sims 2 or even ZT1... (I've been "revisiting" ZT2 the past month or so, as my work schedule is currently to sporadic to get all the "tweaking" of Sims 2 done that I want to get done. I also figure waiting until the last SP & EP are out will mean that shortly there will be now more new versions of InSim, SimPE, Sim Blender, Inge Jone's Door Hack, etc. to worry about! I figured I wouldn't need to do so much "stuff" to ZT2...of course you know how long that plan lasted! I was doing good until I found some awesome ZT2 modding tutorials... *sigh* ) -ZW

It would be neat to have a alien zoo!
Did you say "sporadic"?

As long as they don't get in to the food and beverage industry, we're safe.

+ = ! (Thats's EA/Maxis + King County Elections = I think you get it... ) EA/Maxis in the Land O' Democracy....can you picture it? On the plus side, nobody would ever accuse them of rigging elections, as nobody would ever believe they possessed the computer skills to do so. Might be a nice change of pace... Quote:

Actually, they've got a popcorn and soft drink battle planned with Blockbuster... After they're done, win or lose, they're gonna make a game about it!

I can see it now! You drop simulated Mentos in to simulated Coca-Cola and deploy your simulated umbrella...
