Default "Terrain Mode" Circle AWOL

This has been something of a continuing occurrence in my game & I wondered if anyone out there has ever seen it and/or knows how to fix it...if indeed it can be fixed!

For reasons I have yet to determine, that little circle that appears when you are laying down terrain paint or adding water is often funky for me. Sometimes it's only visible over water or if I press the control key (to remove terrain) & often it is just totally invisible. It seems to be something "decided" when the game loads, as switching Hoods never changes anything; once it's decided how it's going to behave it acts that way for the entire play session! The frustrating part is that whether or not it worked the last session means nothing. Each session is a totally new "will-I-be-able-to-accurately-place-terrain-or-not" adventure.

Oh & whether or not I have any Custom Content seems to be irrelevant too. (The problem does seem more pronounced on Pets-and-higher installations though...)

Any thoughts?

That has been happening to me quite often, but not consistently, and it only started recently. I have especially noticed it when I was painting whole lots with sand. (Making beaches, obviously. I really should consider installing Bon Voyage.) It must have something to do with switching to a cursor that matches the terrain brush.

Thought: Then next time it happens, try cycling the Caps Lock key. In Photoshop that's the key that controls whether or not Photoshop shows the brush shape as the cursor.

Well, no dice on the Cap Lock key. (It took a while to test this, as my Terrain Circle has been cooperating perfectly ever since I posted the original thread...until today!)

Grrrr.

Oh well. As long as my PC isn't melting, I really can't complain!

Naturally. I fixed my non-blinking turn signals last week by buying a new flasher unit and driving around with it lying on the dash. They've functioned perfectly ever since. When they stop working again, I'll install the flasher under the dash where it belongs.
